Diogo Nogueira is 27 years old, a singer, and a composer, and comes from a noble lineage of samba music. Son of the renown composer and singer João Nogueira, before Diogo was even one month old, he was already tagging along with his parents to samba gatherings, called pagodes, and was accustumed from an early age to listen to samba and choros. João Nogueira would always invite his son to participate in his shows and in the samba between friends. Soon after, invites for Diogo arrived with hopes of having him participate in the samba gatherings, called roda de samba, in Rio, a habit that awareded him repect and aproval with the veteran samba greats.

In July, 2007, Diogo Nogueira recorded his first DVD in the João Caetano Theater, in Rio, performing samba classics as well as new ones. The artists Marcelo D2, Xande de Pilares (Revelação), and the violinist Marcel Powell were special guests in this recording, which was launched in CD and DVD in November, 2007, by EMI Music. Recently, Diogo has, for the second time, achieved the victory in providing the theme of the samba school of his heart, Portela, where he was part of the sector comprised of composers. Revered by masters like Monarco, Candeia, Clara Nunes, Paulinho da Viola, Marisa Monte, and João Nogueira, Portela took to the samba competition in Rio with the theme of "Reconstructing nature, recreating life: the dream becomes reality". Diogo Nogueira has been chosen by popular vote to the final phase of the Multishow Brazilian Music Prize 2008 in the category "Revelation" and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category of "Best new artist".

"Those who are in love with the entrancing music of Brazil will be thankful for the gifted talent of Diogo Nogueira, as good as his dad, he has samba in his blood…" - Zeca Pagodinho

Marcos Ariel is indefatigable as a pianist, flutist and composer. He blends his "Carioca" (one who is native to Rio) style with Jazz and classical influences to create orchestrations and performances that are distinctly his own.Born in Rio de Janeiro, where Music is a way of life, Ariel has spent much of his childhood studying classical piano and memorizing master works of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin. Later, he developed a passion and admiration for Samba, Choro, Jazz and Bossa Nova through the music of Master Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Following his project with Tenure Records "4 FRIENDS" , Marcos Ariel presents now, his latest CD "Alone With Jobim", produced and engineered by his son Lucas Ariel. "That album is really a dream come true. Since I´ve started working in the US, I`ve always noticed the admiration of American audience for Antonio Carlos Jobim's music. I can even say I´ve learned more about his music here in America then in Brazil. Besides all of that, having my dear son Lucas on the studio with me, producing and capturing the beautiful and majestic sound of the Steinway nine foot concert grand made that project really unique and special". After the concert "Homage to Tom Jobim" ( summer 2005 at Ford Amphitheatre in Los Angeles ) Marcos Ariel diced to prepare and record "Alone With Jobim". The songs recorded in the album Alone With Jobim, were chosen naturally after the audience and critics response to the concerts and performances, Ariel says. "'Girl from Ipanema, Quiet Nights, Dindi, No More Blues, Waters of March among others, always made part of my repertoire and they are well- known all over the World.

…Ariel's unique musical phrasing are played out stylishly employing classical keyboard technique and very 'Brazilian' ideas have a sensibility steeped in Rio brew that combines 'Choro' with Chopin…" (Jazziz Magazine by Mark Holston)

PRESS RAVES:

"…It's not often that a world music festival at a prestigious amphitheater turns into the kind of relaxed, infectious party you would find in the backyard of a Latin American home. Then again, this is Brazilian music we're talking about. History has shown repeatedly that offering resistance to the almighty drum is simply futile…"

— Ernesto Lechner, Daily Variety

Taking Brazilian music far beyond just samba…

If you think Brazilian music simply reaches from samba to bossa nova, from feathered and sequined dancers to the surging excitement of Carnaval, you should have been at the Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday night.

— Don Heckman, Los Angeles Times
