ASEID Contemporary Dance Company will open May 18th at the Dicapo Opera Theatre, 184 East 76th Street, "ASEID In 2007", for a three day run. The Company, described by Tim Martin, Dance Europe Magazine as a "young company [that] shows promise" and Ms. Seidenstricker as "adept at the craft of choreography", will be premiering "Game" choreographed by the company's director Alison Seidenstricker. Performances will feature Seidenstricker's signature piece, "Replacing Accents", starring ASEID veterans: Kerry Shea and Jamar Goodman as well as solo work by acclaimed dancer Andrea Long. A weekend of new works, where jazz and modern meet ballet for a mystical ride through nature, humor, dreamlands, and romance. Now in its third season, ASEID has performed to sold out audiences in New York and Internationally. The company's performance was lauded as "Persuasively and lyrically performed" by NYC critic Dr. Roberta E. Zlokower of exploredance.com. Angelica Altuzar C. of Mexico's Coneculta-Chiapas acclaimed ASEID's Latin American debut as "Contemporary… majestically executed".
Ticket holders for the Friday Gala will be treated to a pre-performance jazz band and a post performance cocktail hour with the company. These tickets will be $30 for general admission and $25 for senior citizens and children. Tickets for the Saturday evening performance and the Sunday afternoon matinee will be $25 for general admission and $20 for senior citizens and children.
