Subway Studio

Photos and text by Lynne B. Lubash

This is a picture of the dance studio located in the bowels of the Rego
Park-63rd Dr. subway on the R/G subway line in Queens. Note the graffiti. They keep washing it off, and it keeps coming back!

I have never danced here; I was just amazed to find a dance studio steps away from the train. To my knowledge, this is the only dance studio in America located in a subway station. However, I have not done any research on this point. This is where the exploredance.com readers come in.

If you know of another dance studio in a subway, or in any other interesting/unusual location, LET US KNOW! Take a picture of it and write a few words about it and get it to exploredance.com via email attachment (subway@exploredance.com) and we'll post it on the site along with your name.

Happy exploring.
