Lori Brizzi now holds her Millenium Hustle party in three locations on different evenings. Some Saturdays her party is held at the 92nd Street Y. Tonight the party was held in two rooms. In the main room, a DJ (Nelson "Paradise" Roman) spun classic and contemporary Hustle. This room had a wooden floor. In the second room, a DJ (Erik Novoa) spun West Coast Swing. This room had a Marley floor. A Marley floor is what modern dancers (barefoot) and ballet dancers (pointe shoes) often prefer to dance on. If you haven't danced on Marley before, it is stickier than what you are probably used to. You can social dance on it, but you need to reduce your floor pressure. If you enjoy Hustle, this is a party to keep on your list. The party costs $15 per person at the door. The price of admission to this party included free drinks and snacks (as is often the case at 92Y). Hustle and West Coast Swing lessons from 8 to 9 pm. Party from 9 pm to 1 am. Check out Lori's site at www.LoriBrizzi.com for more information. You should also check out Erik Novoa's site at www.SwingShoes.net. Erik taught a lesson and DJed the West Coast Swing room at the party. He often offers special discounts on his website if you pre-pay for his party and Lori's party at the same time.
