Water Sprites in Villa Ocampo.
This work and performance was created by Diana Theocharidis, choreographer and head of events in Villa Ocampo, and took place in the home and mansion (which has been converted into a museum and cultural center) of the writer and one of Argentina's first feminists Victoria Ocampo in the outskirts of Buenos Aires in San Isidro, a neighborhood by the River Plate comparable to the Hamptons.

It was a well-danced performance but it's difficult to call performance because it's not the typical show with an intro, finale, and curtsying in the end. The dancers would subtly appear amongst the public from the back of the garden and start to dance as if they were in their own world. They would move amongst the crowd, darting in different directions, jetting back and forth and in and out of the fountain until they completely submerged themselves in the water hanging from the sculpture in the middle and splashing water everywhere while in transparent costumes until the music being played softly tuned out and little by little the dancers returned to their origin in the park like two water sprites that we the public happened to witness playing amongst the garden and fountain. It was at best spontaneous, unpredictable and left the audience not knowing what these two ballet/modern dancers would do next.

Direction and Choreographer: Diana Theocharidis
Dancers: Sonia Nocera, Gabriela Núñez
