Festival Vertigo
Ciudad Cultural Konex

Festival Vertigo, an acrobatic festival, took place during the end of October and throughout November in a cultural center/theatre called Ciudad Cultural Konex in Buenos Aires. Kamuflash was one of the acrobatic pieces presented by the circus La Arena (The Sand) and directed by Gerardo Hochman and performed by a company of acrobatics, actors and dancers. Unlike traditional circuses with the audience surrounding the players in the center these performance artists literally took the audience off their feet and sent them running after the artists.

The prestigious company La Arena Circus seeks through its productions to surprise, to play and to cause emotion through poetic movement in a singular language fused with circus, dance and theatre.

The actors like Spiderman were literally scaling the walls of the Ciudad Centro Konex located inside an abandoned warehouse. They would disappear behind one wall and appear on the roof, disappear then suddenly a burst of fire would fly up from the roof top, then a torch would appear on a different roof top. Other dancers and acrobatics would climb and scale the sculptures decorating the cultural center, the doorways and the rocks lining the walls in a contemporary dance-like fashion. In random moments a group would burst through the crowd like a wild group of horses causing the entire audience to run after them around the warehouse to keep up with them. It was uniquely original and surprisingly a lot of fun.
