The Pierre Dulaine Dance Club was recently opened by Pierre Dulaine, a world renowned dancer and co-director of the American Ballroom Theatre company. The studio is elegantly appointed with plush red curtains and stunning dance photographs. The $12 admission to the Saturday night party included a free beginner level dance lesson, followed by the party itself. This is similar to the pattern employed by most studios in California, in contrast to New York City studios which typically do not bundle a group lesson with the party. The refreshments included the usual coffee, tea and cookies, but also included complementary wine (which is a first for a studio).

Pierre himself served as the DJ. He is a very friendly and enthusiastic person who goes out of his way to remember people's names.

Pierre is the dance partner of Yvonne Marceau. They are currently overseeing a very admirable effort to bring partnership dance to New York City public and private schools (see Dancing Classrooms).
