With equal parts intensity, speed, and breathtaking grace, Louise Lecavalier is a truly formidable force on stage. An icon of the Canadian dance world, she joined La La La Human Steps in 1981, directed by choreographer Édouard Lock, and performed with the company for the next seventeen years. In 1985, she became the first Canadian to win a Bessie Award and in 1999 she received the Jean A. Chalmers National Award, Canada's most distinguished dance prize.

In the duet Children, choreographed by DV8 Physical Theatre's Nigel Charnock, she is a vision of fervent physicality, opening a window into a relationship at its breaking point. Children features songs by Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen, and many others. In A Few Minutes of Lock, Lecavalier revisits the athletic choreography of Édouard Lock, including excerpts from the signature works 2 and Exauce/ Salt, to a soundscape of Iggy Pop music.
