Jonah Bokaer is "contemporary dance's renaissance man" (The New York Times) and has been acclaimed internationally as a gifted performer, choreographer, and media artist. A former member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, he has since collaborated with some of today's most respected artists including writer Ann Carson and theater director Robert Wilson. He brings a program of movement and experimentation, designed by the always surprising and much talked about visual artist Daniel Arsham and the design firm Snarkitecture.
Jonah Bokaer and Daniel Arsham appear in RECESS, a site-specific collaboration based in the exploration of language, space, architecture, and improvisation. In the U.S. premiere of Why Patterns, a single ping-pong ball initiates choreographic games and unpredictable events such as 10,000 more ping-pong balls cascading from above.
