Heather Bregman and Katie Dean present "HERE I AM AGAIN ALONE AGAIN"

Heather Bregman and Katie Dean are performance artists that have been working in collaboration for several years. Currently living in different countries (Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Brooklyn, NY, USA, respectively), "HERE I AM AGAIN ALONE AGAIN" is a cross-seas collaboration that explores the natural process of coming into ones own. Centered around solitude, transitional phases, and a surrendering to the passage of time, this work takes on its own rhythm of opposing forces. Bregman and Dean explore themes of infinity and timelessness, shifting perspectives, viewership, voyeurism, the wild body, sensory extremes, and the transition between youth and non-youth.

Since 2010, Bregman and Dean have been making collaborative work for gallery spaces, basements and theaters, and have shown work in New York and Philadelphia. Their work includes video, installation, and sculpture. Set design and construction in collaboration with Michael Drake.

Nadia Tykulsker/Spark(edIt) Arts present "Sheathings from a Steep Slope"

In her third New York season, Nadia Tykulsker/Spark(edIt) Arts presents "Sheathings from a Steep Slope". Spark(edIt) weaves together text, video, and dance to construct an immersive evening of performance; creating a world that oscillates between the mundane and personal, and the fantastic and historic. The world onstage is a window through which each performer emerges as an individual creature, illuminating her co-existence with others. This episodic quartet will take place for the first time in its full-length form at Triskelion Arts.

"Sheathings from a Steep Slope" is directed and choreographed by Nadia Tykulsker in collaboration with her performers, Tara Sheena, Aya Wilson, and EmmaGrace Skove-Epes. Tykulsker is working collaboratively with designers Hiroko Ishikawa and Virginia Wagner to bring this world to life through an immersive and elaborate set. Sound design by long-time collaborator Guillermo E. Brown will complete this fantasy world.

Spark(edIt) Arts is a Brooklyn-based collective founded in 2010 to support Nadia Tykulsker's creation with dancers and artists of different mediums in making works of collaborative dance-theater. They are interested in redefining the boundaries of making: restructuring how, where, and by whom dance can be experienced. Spark(edIt)'s work is based on the belief that one can tackle intimate, familiar, and emotional subjects with humor, boldness, and honesty.

Heather Bregman (VA / NYC / BVI) currently based in Tortola, BVI creates interdisciplinary performances that incorporate sculpture, sound, and movement. Most recently she has exhibited works at American Medium (NY), in collaboration with Jake Dibeler, The Hose (NY), The Outpost: Artist Resources (NY),Triskelion Arts (NY). Arttypes (NY), The Chocolate Factory (NY), and The Hamiltonian Gallery (DC). She has shown work at Movement Research at the Judson Church with Katie Dean, and has performed the work of Marcello Maloberti appearing in the Performa Biennial '09 (NY). She currently lives and works in between New York City and the British Virgin Islands.

Katie Dean is a VA and NYC based performer and dancemaker. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Dance and Choreography. In Richmond, she was a performer for Hunter Carter, Brinson Leigh Kresge, Eleanor Smith and others. Since moving to New York, she has been a performer for Courtney Cooke, Megan Harrold, Julie Mayo, Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance, Nadia Tykulsker, Rebekah Windmiller, and in collaborative performances with Heather Bregman. She has shown work at Movement Research at the Judson Church, Center for Performance Research, Triskelion Arts, BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, The Cora Studio-Theater, The Hose, extra extra gallery, The Outpost: Artist Resources, Wow Cafe, Dixon Place, and other spaces.

Mike Drake is a Virginia-born, Brooklyn-based visual artist. He graduated from the Sculpture and Extended Media department at VCU in 2009 and has been living and working in New York since 2009. He has shown work at Highpoint Gallery in Richmond, VA, The Front Gallery in New Orleans, and Wayfarers Gallery in New York. Mike is working in collaboration with Katie Dean and Heather Bregman to produce the immersive stage design for "HERE I AM AGAIN ALONE AGAIN".

Nadia Tykulsker is a native Brooklynite, a mover/maker/manager/mayhem causer. She has been fortunate enough to work with many artists including Faye Driscoll, Alex Springer, Xan Burley, Sacha Yanow, and Shannon Hummel. She is currently working as Faye Driscoll's choreographic assistant. As well as being a choreographer and dancer, she has worked in stage management, lighting design and artist management for Guillermo E. Brown's project Pegasus Warning. In 2010 she founded the Brooklyn based collective Spark(edIt) Arts to support her creations with artists of various mediums to make works of collaborative dance-theater. Nadia Tykulsker/Spark(edIt) Arts has been the recipient of a Brooklyn Arts Exchange Space Grant and is currently an Artist in Residence at Chez Bushwick. She has presented work at Movement Research at the Judson, Dance New Amsterdam, Cora Studio Theater, Dixon Place and Center for Performance Research. She is excited to present Spark(edIt)'s third season at Triskelion Arts this February.

Guillermo E. Brown (aka PEGASUS WARNING) vocalist, composer, percussionist, producer, improvisor, songwriter's work includes Soul at the Hands of the Machine, The Beat Kids' Open Rhythm System and Sound Magazine, Black Dreams 1.0, …Is Arturo Klauft, Handeheld, Shuffle Mode, WOOF TICKET EP and forthcoming full length. His one-man theater piece, Robeson In Space, premiered at Luna Stage. His work includes sound installation Crack Unicorns at The Studio Museum in Harlem, performance pieces Postcolonial Bacchanale, SYRUP, supergroup BiLLLL$, and collaborative trio Thiefs. A graduate of Wesleyan University (BA) and Bard College (MFA), he was Adjunct Professor at New York University's Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music and Gallatin School and Artist-In-Residence at Pacific Northwest College of Art. He is featured on over 45 recordings, appearing live or recorded with David S. Ware, William Parker, Matthew Shipp, Rob Reddy, Roy Campbell, Spring Heel Jack, Anti-Pop Consortium, Anthony Braxton, DJ Spooky, El-P, Carl Hancock Rux, Vernon Reid, DJ Logic, Latasha Diggs, Dave Burrell, George Lewis, Mendi+Keith Obadike, Victor Gama, David Gunn, Arto Lindsay, Gordon Voidwell, Tecla, Jahcoozi, Robot Koch, Das Racist, Jamie Lidell, Saul Williams, CANT, Mocky, & Twin Shadow.

Roommate Gretchen Scherer describes Ridgewood-based artist Hiroko Ishikawa as "a walker of many dogs" and champions her Halloween costume making skills as the best in the land. A responsible, creative, and funny human, Hiroko lends her talents to this collaboration in many forms, including nest-making, painting, and production design. During work hours, Hiroko assists artist Wangechi Mutu.
