World Dance Festival: Dancing Across Cultural Borders Saturday, November 7, 2015 Time: 7pm Location Faison Firehouse Theater 6 Hancock Place New York, NY 10027 (124th Btw St. Nicholas and Morningside Avenue) Take the A,B,C,D Trains to 125th Street Tickets: General Admission: $25 Students, Seniors, Lotus Members: $20 Early Bird (Available through Oct. 30th): $15 VIP: $50 (VIP tickets provide priority reserved seating and a refreshment voucher)Featuring at 7pm: West African, North Indian and Flamenco Dances The Kotchegna Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Vado Diomande, brings to life the ancient stories and legends of Africa's Ivory Coast performing a repertoire with masked dances, intricate footwork and explosive energy. Janaki Patrik's Kathak Ensemble & Friends communicates the richness of Indian culture, performing the classical Lucknow style of kathak with its rich poetry and storytelling techniques. Danza España, led by Yloy Ybarra, performs a diversity of flamenco dance traditions, highlighting the essence of Spanish dance, music, and song with choreography that adds fresh insight and inspiration. We are able to provide this event through the gracious grant provided to us by the National Endowment of the Arts who was able to provide us partial funding for this event.
