The International Association of Blacks In Dance (IABD) presents its 28th Annual International Dance Conference and Festival celebrating dancers of color. The five-day event—January 20-24—brings the dance world's elite and emerging together for professional development, master classes, renowned speakers (including a keynote by Urban Bush Women's Jawole Willa Jo Zollar). There will also be performances by 30+ dance companies from around the world—including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Philadanco! In addition, IABD will host a series of dance auditions—including its 1st Annual Ballet Audition for women of color seeking company contracts with 15+ premiere ballet dance companies in the U.S. Hosted by Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, the event will take place at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, in Denver, Colorado, with performances taking place at the historic Paramount Theatre, Ellie Caulkins Opera House and Denver Performing Arts Complex.
