Main Street Dance presents the premiere production of "An American Cinderella" at the Victory Theatre on August 6th at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. and August 7th at 2:00. Tickets are $15.00 for general admission.

Set in the magical world of 1930s Hollywood, "An American Cinderella" is a modern take on the classic story, mixing ballet, jazz, and ballroom dancing to create a fast-paced and dramatic performance. The Main Street Dance production features the music of Sergei Prokofiev, whose complex and often dark music fittingly reflects the show’s time period.

Main Street Dance (MSD) was created to provide area high school students with a creative and physical outlet during the summer. In collaboration with Ballet Indiana, a 501(c)(3) organization, and the Summer Soulstice Series, MSD provides free ballet classes to all performers during the summer months. MSD productions strive to include many dance styles and traditions, focusing on original choreography and innovative narratives, as they do in this summer’s production of "An American Cinderella."

This will be one fairy tale for the history books!
