Cell phone law taking effect for all drivers in New Jersey

by Wes Carrajat
March 20, 2008
Washington Township, NJ
Editor's note: Wes Carrajat is an excellent DJ who sends out a regular series of useful announcements to his list. Here is some useful advice, from one of his recent emails, if you want to stay safe while driving to or from a dance event in New Jersey.
The state's new cell-phone law is now in effect, (March 4, 2008) making the use of a wireless hand-held telephone or electronic communication device (like a BlackBerry) by a driver an offense with a $100 fine. You can use hands free accessories such as Bluetooth or a speaker phone device. The NJ police have handed out hundreds of tickets since the law went into effect.
