Ballet Academy East announces Auditions for the Pre-Professional Ballet Division on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 5pm at Ballet Academy East, 1651 Third Avenue, 3rd Floor, NYC. Auditions will be held for students 7-19 years old. The audition fee is $20. The fall semester will begin on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. The Pre-Professional Ballet Division is designed to provide professional training for careers in ballet. The comprehensive BAE syllabus was created by Darla Hoover and is based on the teachings of Marcia Dale Weary. The syllabus is designed to develop technically strong, expressive ballet dancers, who ultimately can adapt to any style. The Pre-Professional Ballet Division consists of nine levels. Each student is evaluated by the BAE faculty and placed into the level where she/he will benefit most from their classes. The curriculum includes technique, pointe, partnering, variations, stretch, men's weight training, modern and character. Performing opportunities give students the chance to further develop their artistic and technical skills. BAE presents two annual student productions: the Studio Showing in February, and the Spring Performance in May.

The faculty is led by Associate Artistic Director Darla Hoover and includes Charles Askegard, Maxim Beloserkovsky, Cynthia Birdwell, Olga Dvorovenko, Peter Frame, Jenna Lavin, Joseph Malbrough, Tara Mora, Francis Patrelle, Elizabeth Walker, Wendy Whelan and Cheryl Yeager. The permanent guest faculty includes Nicholas Ade, Stacy Caddell and Jennifer Davidson.
