Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company in D.C. is recruiting 4 strong male and 2 female dancers with solid background in modern and/or ballet for a residency/performance season April 16-May 9, followed by an 18-month contract, part-time, for invited dancers. Dancers must be able to live in D.C. April 16-May 9 and be prepared to move permanently if offered a contract. The Company performs a variety of works from Anna Sokolow classics to dances influenced by the Indian form Bharata Natyam. All performances and travel expenses are paid, and dancers receive a rehearsal stipend. The Company has several local, national and international performance opportunities in the 2015-16 season, along with a strong outreach program in area schools and community centers.
