ChoreoProject Awards Fall Awards - November 11 and 12, 2016 Spring Awards - March 17 and 18, 2017 Friday and Saturday 2:30pm and 7:00pm Location: SJSU Dance Theater (SPX 216) One Washington Square, San Jose, CA 95192 (Near 4th and San Carlos Streets) Tickets: $17-$28 Student, Senior, and General Admission tickets available) In its 12th year, sjDANCEco's ChoreoProject Awards Concert is a low-tech dance series for all dance disciplines (modern, ballet, hip hop, jazz, ethnic dance, etc.) designed to provide emerging and professional choreographers a cost-free opportunity to present their work. Choreographers audition their work and those selected perform in the concert for an opportunity to receive one of two awards presented - The sjDANCEco Award (selected by the Artistic Directors) and The Audience Choice Award (selected by audience ballot vote.) Participants are selected about 8 weeks prior to the performances. (TBA) February 10 and 11, 2017 Friday and Saturday 2:30pm and 7:00pm Location: SJSU Dance Theater (SPX 216) One Washington Square, San Jose, CA 95192 Tickets: ($17-$28 Student, Senior, General Admission tickets available) sjDANCEco Festival at Santana RowCelebrating National Dance Week - A cornerstone Bay Area Dance Week event Sunday, April 23, 2017 10:00am-5:00pm Santana Row Park, 368 Santana Row, Stevens Creek Boulevard between Olin Ave and Olsen Drive in San Jose, CA 95128 Admission is FREE Sixty to seventy Bay Area Dance Organizations (from young children to professional companies and everything in between) present many styles of dance on Santana Row’s outdoor festival stage during a 7-hour window. This celebration of National Dance Week showcases the diversity of the Bay Area dance community. ABOUT US: sjDANCEco is a year-round contemporary dance company based in San Jose, California that produces world premiere dances by its core and guest choreographers, and presents the very best of Contemporary and Classic Modern Dance as well as Masterpieces of the American Modern Dance Repertory. In addition to a full season of dance concerts, sjDANCEco produces each Spring at Santana Row a free outdoor Dance Festival in celebration of National Dance Week.
