Editorial: ExploreDance.com condemns the terrorist attacksSeptember 14, 2001 ExploreDance.com condemns the recent terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, as well as the hijacking of the airplanes. We urge everyone in the New York City and Washington, D.C. areas to donate blood if they are able to do so. The perpetrators of this crime must be brought to justice, yet in doing so we must resist the temptation to sink to their level by striking blindly at other innocents. We also believe that as dancers we have a responsibility to speak out against this unspeakable, evil act. Dance is about supporting others and giving to others. While dance itself can not directly heal these wounds, we can each show that dance is not just entertainment, but is an embodiment of humanity, decency and liberty. We can show this by each doing what we can for others in this crisis, by deed and word. If you would like to speak and be heard, ExploreDance.com stands ready to help, even by listing the names of dancers who have given blood. It is admittedly but a drop of water against a cloud of hatred, yet it is an obligation we must affirm. Just as those who can heal the injured must strive to heal, those who can speak must speak. Sincerely,Robert AbramsEmail me at editor@exploredance.com if you would like to express yourself. A remembrance of dance at the World Trade Center
