Carlos Porto's Charity for Homeless Dogs

Great dancers are often giving people too. Carlos Porto, Samba teacher extraordinaire, runs a shelter for homeless dogs in Brazil. Here are some pictures of the dogs his charity has cared for. Plus one picture of Carlos on the dance floor.

Carlos and his associates locate stray dogs and care for them and nurture them back to health. Carlos finds good homes for the dogs, but meanwhile cares for them with tremendous love and devotion. The following photos show before and after pictures of the dogs, which exemplify the superb care and treatment afforded them.

If you would like to contact Carlos for lessons, email him at carlosportodance@hotmail.com. And don't miss the charity event he is hosting on March 1, 2003 at You Should Be Dancing (412 8th Avenue, 31st Street
in New York City). Call 212-244-0011 for more information or check out the event flyer.
